Job posting: Acquisitions Specialist (Albany Law School)

LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT - ACQUISITIONS SPECIALIST
                                                                                                       
Albany Law School seeks a Library Technical Assistant - Acquisitions Specialist. Responsibilities include placing orders for new library material, receiving new titles, creating and maintaining acquisitions records in an integrated library system (SirsiDynix Symphony), selecting and importing MARC records from OCLC WorldCat database, corresponding with vendors and publishers, preparing invoices for payment, and maintaining the library's financial records. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills. Meticulous attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a busy environment. 

Qualifications include:  Bachelor's Degree and one year of related library experience; Associate's Degree with more extensive experience considered. Familiarity with cataloging methods and MARC bibliographic coding. Familiarity with bookkeeping/accounting methods preferred. Excellent communication skills. Experience with personal computers and MS Windows. Experience with MS Excel desirable. Ability to lift boxes up to 25 lbs and move loaded book trucks.
